Looking forward to meeting everyone this weekend. I am in my first year for Youth ministry and it has been crazy with what is happening with our church.

I have been the lead youth minister in my church since October. This is the first time that the church has had anyone truly serious about making a difference in the life of teens and it can be a battle. Especially when the focus hasn't been on them for so long. This is my first conference. I am looking to gain further insight and ideas on how to continue to help the youth ministry grow but to also have an effective youth ministry. I really want the youth to be on fire about God and their futures.

Hey, I've been doing FT youth ministry for about 6 months, with PT ministry for about 9 months before that. I was trained in Family Life ministry, never thought I wanted to do youth ministry, and now I'm doing both. I've got lots to learn and hope to learn a bunch and connect with others at the conference. I'm at a rural church in NW Ohio, with about 20 HS kids regularly involved. Our church has never had a FT minister besides the pastor before, so this is new to everybody. I'm blessed beyond belief to have an extremely supportive pastor and caring congregation. Hope I get to meet some of you at the conference - anybody else interested in figuring out how to connect youth ministry as a part of a greater family ministry?

Any other newbies signed up for the pre-conference with Doug Fields, First Two Years in Youth Ministry? I'm really looking forward to that. Really excited about the whole thing! Gonna be AWESOME ! ! !

Whew! It's so nice to know I'm not alone! I'm not the only newbie to this whole amazing thing called youth ministry. 9 months and counting for me! God is faithful! And what a privilege to work with my kids! Excited to meet some of y'all at the conference. It's gonna be oober awesome, yo!!!!

Hey Guys! Excited for Feb, this is the first youth conference for me (hopefully many more to come!) What are you desiring to learn? Or what questions are you really wanting the answers to? I know I need organization and learning how to train & effectively lead a team is top of my list. Can't wait to meet some of you =]

When I started with my youth group 8 months ago, we had 8 students..... Now, we're almost 30 on a regular basis. God is so good! I'm hungry for some new ideas about youth ministry and new material for my youth group! God bless you!
