Hey Small Church Ministry friends! I can't believe the conference is less than two weeks away - we are so excited about this time to renew, refresh and rejuvinate our souls! I am sorry I have missed some of this great chat that is going on! I love seeing how you are loving and supporting each other.... that is exactly what Affinity Groups are for at the conference. We have added an addition to our church and the big room in the basement is for the youth. So far since we started the youth group we have been several places in the church. Right now we have a tub with our stuff in it. We are looking forward to having our own space and the kids have great ideas for how to decorate. I feel that once we have it done, could be several months yet, that they will start to invite their friends. The kids want to have an overnighter when the room is finished, so they are looking forward to having their own space. We have fund raisers and are planning another when the weather gets warmer. We have a regular church attendance of 35-45, with three youths that attend.

I have used a variety of curriculums. I usually focus Sunday school on bible study - though right now we are doing a curriculum on the religions of the world. Sunday evening starts with more socializing and then we hit topics that affect the kids. I used a great multimedia curriculum called e-merge, but there are only 3 of them and we have used all of them. I like to use multimedia things - but not finding much out there. We started Doug Fields and Megan Hutchinson's Scarred last week, but it is a audio version, so the youth have to listen, which some did others did not.

We also have at least one fun activity a month to go and play. Next week we are going to a pizza buffet/arcade place. We also have lock-ins and go on trips to Kings Island for the Spirit Song Concert.
